Teachings during the KBV Monastics' Winter Retreat

From January 4th to April 2nd 2026, the bhikkhunis of KBV will be on retreat. During this time, the Sutta Study and Eastbay Dhamma programs will be suspended. "How do I Apply the Dhamma to THIS" will continue at its usual time, 9am-10:30am on Saturdays and will be offered online only. 

"How do I apply the Dhamma to Disease and Death!?!"

During this winter retreat, the regularly scheduled Saturday morning program taught by Ayya Santussika, will take many of the suttas referenced in "Mindfully Facing Disease and Death" by Bhikkhu Anālayo as their basis. 

The program from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Saturdays includes a Dhamma talk, discussion/Q&A, and often includes guided meditations.

For those who want to dive deeply into this material, you may want to read the book as we discuss the suttas, listed below. For those who are not currently into reflecting on disease and death for 3 months, there will also be time for questions about any topic that relates to the Dhamma.
