San Jose Walk to Feed the Hungry 2016

This year's Walk to Feed the Hungry in San Jose on the morning of October 22nd will be a pilgrimage from temple to temple, starting at Buddhi Vihara, and ending at the Ocean of Compassion (Gyalwa Gyatso) Buddhist Center. The Walk will be 4.8 miles, starting at 8:15 am (with registration beginning at 7:30 am) and ending about 12 pm.
A light breakfast (pastry and beverages) will be offered during registration.

This is our opportunity to practice conscientious compassion in community on our streets. We will walk together in solidarity raising awareness among our neighbors about chronic hunger and malnutrition around the world; and raising funds to support sustainable projects to end them. Mindful walking, generosity, listening to inspiring talks, and making spiritual friends are great ways to heal, brighten, and develop the mind as taught by the Buddha.
People are welcome to depart as they need during the five-mile walk.
Don't forget your water bottles, a snack, and a hat.
To increase our group's visibility, please wear a white shirt or t-shirt to the Walk.

Bus # 26 (Eastridge) on Campbell Ave, transfer to
Bus # 60 (Great America) on Winchester Blvd
Fare: $4.00
Travel Time: 1h15
Parking and Shuttle Information:
Park at either Buddhi Vihara or Ocean of Compassion. Street parking available. Feel free to team up with someone else who has a car, parking one car on each end. A shuttle service will also run between 7:00 am and 7:45 am from Ocean of Compassion to Buddhi Vihara prior to the walk. On the day of the walk, call 408-568-6414 or 415-816-3268 for an update on the next shuttle. The shuttle will also run back to Buddhi Vihara after the walk ends. Also, we would like to encourage those parking at Ocean of Compassion to consider giving a lift to those who parked at Buddhi Vihara.
